Maneka Gandhi congrates Anshu Jamsenpa

Mrs Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister of Women & Child Development congratulated Dr Anshu Jamsenpa and wished her many more laurels when the later called on the Union Minister at her office chamber in Shashtri Bhawan New Delhi today.

The Minister also advised her to start an enterprise in the North East to train ‘Women Only’ in the field of adventure and allied sports. She mentioned the name of Ms Thinlas Chorol, founder of Ladakhi Women’s Travel Company who is successfully transforming lives of several women in Ladakh region.

Anshu said the meeting with the charismatic minister was a nice experience. “It was full of positive talks. Maneka Gandhi wants me to work towards women empowerment and sustainable livelihood. I have assured her I will do my best in this regard and hope that I will get all the support and assistance to carry forward the misssion”. said Anshu after the meeting.

Anshu was felicitated by the Minister with the prestigious “First Ladies” award by her Ministry at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 20 Jan last and very recently she was conferred with India’s highest adventure sports award ‘Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award’ by the President Ram Nath Kovind.

Dr Anshu Jamsenpa was accompanied by Arunachal Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Asscociation President Tsering Wange and the vetteran adventurer Capt Raj Kumar.
